Ovidiu Radulescu
Ovidiu is a professor of mathematics at the Laboratoire des Interactions Hotê-Pathogen (LIHP), Montpellier, and specialises in the application of stochastic modelling to the analysis and explanation of a wide range of complex biological processes. Ovidiu is currently pioneering novel and important analytical techniques for the extraction of tangible mechanistic parameters of biological systems from currently intractable biological data sets, alongside techniques in dimensional reduction for systems biochemical equations.
Laurent Le Cam
Laurent is a team leader at the Institut de Recherche en Cancérologie de Montpellier (IRCM) whose early work focussed on the role of p53 in cancer progression and whose recent work has focussed his attention on metabolism in melanoma. Notably, his recent work has involved the identification and correlation of particular modes of mitochondrial metabolism and behaviours characteristic of cancer or oncogenesis.
Dumitru Trucu
Dumitru is a senior lecturer in mathematics at the University of Dundee whose research focusses on applied mathematics in oncology. In recent years, Dumitru has derived a multi-dimensional modelling technique, based on continuity reasoning, as well as an influential multi-scale moving boundary modelling framework and applied these widely in the study of cancer invasion.
Gilles Uzé
Gilles is a team leader at the Laboratoire des Interactions Hotê-Pathogen (LIHP), Montpellier, and an expert in the biological field of immunology. In particular, Gilles is interested in the interactions between the human interferon (IFN) and its receptors, IFNAR1 and IFNAR2, and how this interaction may affect the progression of human disease.
